Jambus are known as Rose Apples, they also called Water Apple and Bell Fruit. This crunchy fruit has a light flavour of moderate sweet and slightly sour. The taste is very mild with a hint of rose water.

The shape of Jambu reminds me of a bulb with very thin skin. When it fully ripens the skin turns from light green with a tinge of pink into an attractive rich red colour. The flesh of the fruit stays white.

They are juicy and perfect to quench the thirst on a hot day.

The fruit is popular in Sri Lanka during the summer season and it’s often seen grown in home gardens.
